Who Is The Instructor?
My name is Steven, and I am currently the main instructor for U.P. Training. I became a volunteer firefighter in 2013, and since then have spent quite a bit of time being trained and training others for high stress situations. I believe that basic life saving skills are something that everyone should learn. Why? Because when seconds count, help is minutes away. My goal is to help make the U.P. a safer place by teaching regular people like you and me how to help themselves and the people in their lives. It is scary when something bad happens, wouldn’t you like to be the person who knows what to do?
Why do we do it?
Not too long ago my wife and I were getting ready to become parents. One of the things on our checklist was for us and the soon to be grandparents to learn infant CPR. Having to do CPR on a baby is a scary thing to think about, and we wanted to know how to do it if the worst case scenario happened. Trouble was, we couldn’t find a class anywhere near us. I suppose that is one of the tradeoffs of living in such a low population area. In fact, we couldn’t even find adult CPR classes around us either. It seemed sad that such a simple life saving course was not readily available up here.
Is U.P. Training Certified To Teach CPR?
We sure are! Our instructors are certified to teach the American Heart Association (AHA) CPR and First Aid classes for all age groups. These classes provide certification in CPR for many professions, or they can teach normal people like you and me how to react in a bad situation.
